JL exhausts started in 1979 at Wymondham, Norfolk, Great Britain

The first products produced were for the popular racing TZ Yamahas 250 & 350.
With the success of the products many established racing teams began knocking at our door including Padgetts of Batley, Zip Karts, Steve Webster Racing etc…

In 1988 our first season producing pipes for kart racing, we achived first and second positions in the British 250cc Superkart Championship.
Throughout the next three seasons our product won every major karting championship in the world , including British, Swedish, South African, Australia, European & World.

Since making our first TZ250 pipes 23 years ago we have made high performance two stroke pipes for road & racing motorcycles, motocross, racing quads, karts, sidecar racing, racing F500 car, scooters and jet ski.

Perhaps our best known products are for the LC & YPVS350 Yamahas a product
we have made now for almost 20 years. These pipes were derived from our race winning F2 world championship Yamahas, also winning the Isle of Man TT races.

One of our former customers Steve Webster used our exhausts in the early 1980's to win the sidecar British championship, breaking ever curcuit lap record in the process.

Although nowadays we are best known for our scooter exhausts, last year the British GP team Sabre Sport came to our factory in the need of extra power. For their YZR 500 Yamaha we were able in making pipes for them giving an extra 13bhp, from 165bhp upto 178bhp.

Five years ago our German distributor for scooter exhausts asked if we could make exhausts from stainless steel, this we did and probably our 2-stroke expansion chambers are the only ones made from this material in series production.

In 1993 the company moved to the Czech Republic where to this time the company founder Jim Lomas runs the business with his wife Helenka and son Oliver.
